About the Doctors

Thomas P. “Chip” Irwin, Jr., D.M.D.

Dr. Irwin received his B.S degree in biology from Birmingham Southern College in Birmingham, Alabama. He went on to receive a D.M.D (Doctor of Medical Dentistry Degree) in 1986 from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry, in Birmingham, Alabama.

Following graduation from dental school, Dr. Irwin completed one year of general dentistry residency in the United States Army at Fort Carson, Colorado Springs, Colorado and then three years of general dentistry in Giessen, Germany. He has been in private practice in the Quad Cities since 1990.

He is active in the ADA, IDA and was past president of both the Davenport District Dental Association and the Scott County Dental Society. Also part of the Iowa Study Club.

Born and raised in Tennessee, Dr. Irwin enjoys many sports and outdoor activities as well as spending time with his wife, Dawn, and their two children: Blake and Taylor.

Jason R. Benoit, D.D.S.

Dr. Benoit was born and raised in Dubuque, Iowa. He attended St. Ambrose University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. Dr. Benoit went on to attend the University of Iowa College of Dentistry where he received his D.D.S. in 1999.

Returning to the Quad Cities, Dr. Benoit became staff dentist at Community Health Care while his wife, Gena, completed her family practice residency through Genesis Medical Center. She used to practice at the Genesis Maplecrest Clinic in Bettendorf and is now practicing at Genesis West Campus in Davenport. Dr. Benoit participates as a guest speaker and mentor at St. Ambrose University. He is active in the ADA and IDA. Past president of the Scott County Dental Society and is also part of the Quad Cities Health Initiative, occasionally lecturing on health related issues.

Jason enjoys many outdoor activities including fishing water/snow skiing and woodworking. Jason and Gena have three wonderful boys: Daniel, Michael and Adam.

Dustin M. Smolenski, D.D.S.

Dr. Smolenski received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Northern Illinois University in 2004. He then received his D.D.S. from the University of Iowa, College of Dentistry in 2009.

He is active in the ADA, IDA, Davenport District Dental Society and Scott County Dental Society.

Born and raised in East Moline, Dr. Smolenski enjoys anything outdoors, Hawkeye Football and spending time with his wife Tammy and their two golden retrievers.
